The Crucible

The book that I chose was ‘The Crucible’ by Arthur Miller. I am reading this book in my English class and we have gotten very far. I enjoy this book because it is an event that actual happened in real life and me already clarified I am a drama reader.

Summary:
This book is so far about a group of girls that got caught dancing around in the woods and dancing is like a sin where they live. Being that one of the two girls are kin to the pastor of the church who discovered them dancing it kind of adds a lot of tension to the situation. We have to know if he will play his cards right and be completely honest with others and himself about what he discovered or will he sugar coat it to protect his own reputation. Even more will the girls admit to everything they did and why they were doing it or will they lie to save themselves and bring down others? I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going to happen next. I wonder if they will tell the truth and the pastor will no longer be the most highest of the village and all the girls would be punished. I wonder what their response would even be as to why were they dancing in the woods around a fire? I personally feel like everyone should be completely honest because if you don’t pay for it now it will come even harder later. Meaning if you don’t tell the truth now it will hunt you forever and the consequences may be even worse than before. If I were to take notes while reading this book, it would probably be in an outline form. An outline form is easier for me to break everything down piece by piece so I understand what is going on in the story and why.
